Monday, September 5. Give the students we love a boldness that comes from knowing You. “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid” (Psalm 27:1)?
Tuesday, September 6. May our students be courageous. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline” (2 Tim. 1:7).
Wednesday, September 7. Give our students the gift of discernment. “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ” (Phil. 1:9-10).
Thursday, September 8. May the children we love be enthusiastic learners! “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23).
Friday, September 9. We pray that our students would be friendly and have good friends. “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Prov. 18:24).
Saturday, September 10. Father, grow generosity in the hearts and lives of our students. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:6-7).
Sunday, September 11. May our children and the children we love be willing to put others first. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” (Phil. 2:3-4).
