Missions & Outreach
Maranatha supports missionaries and ministries around the world as well as locally. The Outreach Committee oversees the missions program, which is funded primarily by “Faith Promise” gifts from the Maranatha congregation. The last Sunday of each month is designated as Mission Emphasis Sunday and allows regular reports from missionaries and the collection of “Faith Promise” gifts.
Local Missions
There are many ways for members of Maranatha to be involved within our local community. Some of our own ministries are intended to extend into the broader community, some members actively partner with local agencies that focus on serving the Holland area, and there are many agencies that we support financially.
Home Missions
When we say “Home Missions,” we are referring to missionaries who serve outside our immediate community but within the United States. In addition to the work we do and the local agencies we support, we also prayerfully and financially support several missionaries across the country.
World Missions
When we say “World Missions,” we are referring to missionaries who serve outside the United States. Although many of us will never have the opportunity to minister in a foreign country, through our prayers and financial gifts supporting those who do serve around the world, we participate in Jesus’ command to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
