Praying God’s Purposes for His Church
Monday, January 3. Pray for Full Council, Elders and Deacons. “‘…Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ … Jesus replied, ‘Do this and you will live’” (Luke 10:27).
Tuesday, January 4. Pray that we would be people who follow hard after Christ. “Then He said to them all: ‘If anyone would come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world and yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he come in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels” (Luke 9:23-26).
Wednesday, January 5. Pray for those who come to Grace Space that they may see Christ in us. “‘…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven’” (Matthew 5:16).
Thursday, January 6. Pray that we surrender ourselves to God, to be transformed by Him. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:1-2).
Friday, January 7. Pray for the Outreach team. Pray that we as a church would follow Jesus in seeking the lost. “Jesus said to him… ’For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost’” (Luke 19:10).
Saturday, January 8. Pray that we would talk about Jesus to those He has put in our lives. “’Return home and tell how much God has done for you.’ So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him” (Luke 8:39).
Sunday, January 9. Pray that we continue to be a church that faithfully preaches the Word. “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction” (2 Timothy 4:2).
