Monday, December 27. “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care” (Psalm 95:6-7a).
We humble ourselves before You today and acknowledge that You are our God and we belong to You.
Tuesday, December 28. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
A New Year brings questions and uncertainty, but we know that You, Lord, go with us and will never leave us or forsake us.
Wednesday, December 29. “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation” (Psalm 13:5).
As we come to the end of another year, we celebrate Your unfailing love and thank You for Your goodness to us.
Thursday, December 30. “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God” (Psalm 90:1-2).
We praise You for Your faithfulness to past generations and are comforted and encouraged by Your eternal reign.
Friday, December 31. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
As we anticipate a New Year, we rejoice, Jesus, for Your continuing presence in our lives and Your power to make all things new.
Praying God’s Purposes for His Church
Saturday, January 1. Pray that we all become more like Jesus - that as dearly loved children, we be imitators of Christ.
“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Ephesians 5:1-2).
Sunday, January 2. Pray that we are a radiant church, cleansed by Christ.
“…just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
