Lent Prayers from “Lent and Easter Wisdom”
Compiled by John V. Kruse
April 10, 2023
Monday, April 10. Christ, through these past days of Lent and Easter, I have entered into the sorrows of death but have also risen to the joys of new life with you. Fill me with your Spirit so that I may remain faithful to you. Help me to share through word and deed what I have gained this Lent and Easter with all whom I encounter.
Prayers of Praise to God!
Tuesday, April 11. Praise God! He is the King of kings! “God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen” (1 Timothy 6:15b-16).
Wednesday, April 12. Praise God! He is King forever! “The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land” (Psalm 10:16).
Thursday, April 13. Praise God! He is the King of glory! “Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty—he is the King of glory” (Psalm 24:7-10).
Friday, April 14. Praise God as your keeper! “The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand” (Psalm 121:5).
Saturday, April 15. Praise God for His kindness to you! “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:4-7).
Sunday, April 16. Praise God for His complete knowledge of all things! “…he knows everything” (1 John 3:20b).
